FUN in the Garden!

2007

Some FUN along the way...

It's been a hard "row to hoe" here, since arriving in August of '05... for sure!

Things change daily here, but it's most obvious by seeing a few pic's of the progress over time!

Here's some "time lapse" shots that are rather interesting...

A view towards the house, after the central bed was originally planted in daylily seedlings...

After a few re-plantings, here's what it looked like in Summer 2012...

Here I am in June '06, off to hybridize in the west fields...

... and here's the same view in Summer '13...

Me "doin' the deed" in the west field, looking east...

... and the same view this past Summer...

Pollen dabbin' in the east field, looking west...

... which looks a lot nicer today!...

Indeed, it's amazing to see the progress!

Meanwhile, there SURE has been some FUN along the way!!!

Here's some fun happenin's 'round the farm over time...

Always happy when folks are buyin' my plants!....

Gal-pal Sandy can't resist gettin' just a little dirty too...

WOW! Here comes Mom... not to be left out!...

...Hmm, not sure if this is what she had in mind!

She cleans up nice when friends (like gal-pal Rita, who jumped out of that plane right along with her!) show up though...

'Fore ya know it, she's back t'playin' 'round again...

My Sis's Jane & Cindy aren't to be trusted with heavy machinery...

But with Sis Christie drivin' the "Slightly Different Safari Wagon"...

and Sis Mary Lisa gettin' wild on the swing...

WHO has time to keep an eye on ANY of  'em?!?!

The original "swing tree" came down in a storm,

but it's new location hasn't deterred interest, for sure!  Oh Gerda, you're such the ham...

ALWAYS good to see neighbor (and fellow plantsman) Dale Hensley...

Author of "Landscaping with Daylilies" Oliver Billingslea can even catch a breeze!...

ALWAYS GOOD to get kids into the act... like Grand-niece Alexis!...

...or niece Carrie and her hubby Tim (parents to "Little Miss Lucy")!...

Nephew Mike and his wife Laura, and new baby "Owen"!...

Why... seems like just yesterday, (the then) Miss Laura was in the bucket of my tractor!...

Indeed... they got BUSY!!!  ;-)

Heck, what kids AREN'T fun... when on the farm???...

Guess I'd better quit playin' though, and get down to BUSINESS!...

Can't say I mind t'see 'em GO!...

Bobby, Eric, Penny, and Ken makin' sure all the donations are spiffy

for the Regional Garden Tour!

Friends and family suuuure come in handy 'round here!...

Tours and shows are a big job.  Live-heading 6 acres of daylilies is WORK,

but we sure make the best of it!...

End of the day classic... a roll in the lilies!!!...

Rest assured, Mom makes sure some blooms make it to the "head table"...

And capping off the day with a sunset balloon ride is QUITE the hit!...

Ahhh... and there it is... sunset on Solstice...

A perfect end....

to a perfectly "Slightly Different" Day!!!

Come join us sometime... SOON!!!
